Anthony qualified in practice as an articled clerk with the central London firm of Goodman Jones as a Chartered Accountant in 1988, after working in pensions management with the Scottish Equitable and computer operations with Hoskyns.
Subsequently Anthony worked in Clark Whitehill's business and audit department, based in the City of London, one of the U.K.'s senior accountancy firms, before joining their client: the Woolwich Building Society in their internal-operations audit function; moving and then eventually being promoted to financial controller of a subsidiary Woolwich Independent Financial Advisory Services (one of the U.K.'s largest IFAs).
Since then, for over ten years, he has run his own firm of Chartered Accountants with his wife Pauline, whom he married in 1992.
In 1991 Anthony was accepted as a Registered Auditor and in 2002 he became a Fellow of the Institute.
Pauline has worked and trained exclusively in practice with firms of chartered accountants, firstly the firm of McBride & Co in Sidcup, Kent until 1990. From there she was with the prestigious top-twenty City firm of Saffrey Champness and then at Evans Rankin in Holborn, specialising in personal tax. Pauline is an affiliate of the ICAEW and became a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians in 1994.
She and Anthony married in 1992 and they have two children.
